Venue Coordinator vs. Day of Coordinator
You’ve found the perfect venue! And, even better, they have a venue coordinator who will take care of you on your big day. That’s amazing! You’re probably wondering, though, if I have a venue coordinator, why would I need a day of coordinator? Don’t they do the same thing-make sure everything on the wedding day runs smoothly? Yes…and no.
Venue coordinators are amazing and I absolutely love being able to work with them. But, they do not mean you shouldn’t still hire a planner to do wedding management (AKA a “day of coordinator”). Venue coordinators are in charge of everything at the venue-they oversee the staff, set up, tear down, and making sure things at the venue are generally to your liking and run the way they should. However, they take care of the venue. We take care of you. Think of them like a stage manager. A day of coordinator is more like a director-we handle the big picture, making sure everyone and everything comes together perfectly. We’re the ones who will make calls to the vendors to make sure everything is on track, who will help with the logistics of getting your bridal party where they need to be when they need to be there, who will take your panicked phone call at 9am and take care of the problem. To be truly stress free on your wedding day it’s great to have a venue coordinator and a day of coordinator to handle anything and everything and make sure the day goes off without a hitch.
